Insider: Coco's Tea Party

name: Coco a.k.a Ella

occupation: Fashion Blogger for Coco's Tea Party & Fashion Journalism Student

hometown: London

if you could have 3 style icons at your dinner table who would they be? I would have Ashley Olsen (because I want to be her best friend), Marc Jacobs (because I want to be his best friend too) and Anna Wintour (because who knows more about fashion?).

what are your two "go-to" shops in London for a quick fashion fix? I would say Harvey Nichols, because they have the most beautiful labels and it's always a little calmer than Selfridges and then Topshop on Oxford Street, because unlike Harvey Nichols I can actually afford stuff there, and it has a fabulous energy about it.

what has been your favorite A/W collection(s) so far? So far my favourite A/W collection was Marc Jacobs - he really stepped it up this season, not that he ever got lazy or anything, but it was just an amazing collection.

who are your favorite stylists? For celebrity my favourite stylist is Rachel Zoe, she can make anyone look good. But as far as styling editorials go no one matches Grace Coddington, who is just out of this world. I also love the work of Alex White at W Magazine too, she puts things together beautifully.

name a trend that should be buried underground and kept there - Well, it's not so much a trend, but I can't get my head around fleece as a fabric. Anything in fleece should be sent far far away. And I don't care if you think it's warm or cosy, it's gross.

favorite scene in The September Issue? I love every scene, it's so hard to choose. Although Mario and Anna's meeting in London is the one that makes me laugh the most, especially when he's dreaming away saying "maybe I should have a party in this room..."

what is your bag and what's in it?
At the moment I'm using my £19 Marc by Marc Jacobs canvas blue bag as I carry so much junk around with me all the time it keeps the overall weight down. I wouldn't even like to get onto the subject of what's in it though - a lot of rubbish and old magazines.

Bootlegs of The September Issue?

NYMag - There is a virtual PR force field around the hotly anticipated The September Issue. No further screenings have been scheduled (it won raves and an Excellence in Documentary award at Sundance and played to a packed house at MoMA), and promotional copies are embargoed. Those in the fashion industry used to getting what they want have stooped to bootlegging. A cadre of editors and designers are in possession of the coveted gem, resulting in fashion screening parties. The movie nights are rumored to have popped up in New York, Paris, and a hotel in Moscow.

The verdict? “LOVE!” said one editor who wishes to remain nameless for fear of being sued over her watermarked copy. “I can quote it scene by scene.” But before you start hunting for a download, be warned. “Anything out there is illegal,” says Alana McElroy, a publicist for the film. Alas, the unconnected will just have to wait until the film's September release.

That's What Bee Said...

From The Daily: “I really don’t want to work in fashion, it’s just not for me. I repect her, obviously, but it’s just a really weird industry. It’s just not for me. She [Anna Wintour] wants me to be an editor. I would never put it down, but I just don’t want to take it too seriously. People in there act like fashion is life. It’s really amusing, but if that’s your career—there are other things out there, seriously…I think I’m going to go to law school.” -Bee Shaffer, in The September Issue

The September Issue Goes Roadside

'The September Issue' has found a home with Roadside Attractions production company.  The film won a cinematography prize at Sundance, while Roadside Attractions are succesful in the docu world with films such as Super Size Me. This documentary takes a behind-the-scenes introspection at Anna Wintour's team at Vogue Magazine while they close the thickest book (in advertising dollars of course), the September issue.  The film debuts ... well take a guess.

Grace Coddington, The Real Star of 'The September Issue'

" ... the real star of the film is Grace Coddington, her number 2 editor and unsung hero of Vogue for the last two decades. Now a raven haired beauty in her 60s, Coddington was a British supermodel for years before a car accident disfigured her face and cut her career short. She is a remarkable figure, and emerges as the heart and soul of an organism that is otherwise devoid of humanity." - Fox News
