Carrie Bradshaw Revisited

The author that put her on the glamorous and fashionista map, Candace Bushnell along with HarperCollins are going back to the days of Carrie Bradshaw as a pimple popping teenager.  (As a reminder, Stanford Blanche did say she used to wear Candies)  The two-book deal, The Carrie Diaries, is slated for publication in 2010.  Bushnell says "Carrie in high school did not follow the crowd - she led it." Of course she did. 

Confessions of a Shopaholic

This year will mark another mega success for Chick lits' in the box office.  Authors such as Helen Fielding ("Bridget Jones' Diary") Candace Bushnell ("Sex and the City", "Lipstick Jungle") and Lauren Weisberger ("Devil Wears Prada") prove that fashionista literature translates well on to the silver screens.  

Coming this fall, bestseller novel "Confessions of a Shopaholic" by Sophie Kinsella will have its turn at the big box office dollars. The film's lead girl, Isla Fisher will play Becky Bloomwood a financial journalist in New York City with a hefty buying addiction and budding romance with a "Mr. Big." With the same comedic charm of "Bridget Jones' Diary" the novel and film, almost every girl will know how it feels to walk a mile in Becky's many, many, many shoes.
