Mayle. Good Times. Even Better Sample Sale. (NYC)

(from Racked) We have a report from inside the epic Mayle closeout sale currently taking place in Nolita. A Racked commenter writes:

Just got back 30 minutes ago. There was a ton of merchandise, lots of fall 08, spring 08, and resort 09, but it was getting picked over very fast. No baby billies as advertised; and only a few pairs of shoes that were snapped up immediately. People were buying thousands of dollars of merch and walking out with bags and bags of stuff. They were bringing out more stuff, but the manager said it wasn't gonna last. At first they were only letting in 15 or so people at a time, but they started letting more people in more quickly later.

LBD For All Tomorrow's Parties

I always say, spend on the LBD that will last you a few memorable years, and thrift on the dress that's a "one-night stand". (This includes the wedding party dress, the knock-out worn at your 10 year reunion and anything worn at a company holiday function.) It's a good rule to live by especially when 'tis the season of a frightening economy. So the LBD on the fashion savvy forefront remains to be "quality" and never "quantity." Do you know what I mean?

Ode To Rachel Bilson

Rachel Bilson off the red carpet, in her own casual self is becoming the Hollywood version of Kate Moss. An L.A. native, she doesn't don the typical southern California style trademarks; baseball cap, Kitson hoodie, 24-hour flip-flops, you know what I mean.
