Armani. Gaga. Armani. Gaga.

via The Daily ... "Armani has created several looks for Lady Gaga’s The Monster Ball that kicked off last week in the UK and will continue on to Australia and Europe. Key looks include a curved-shouldered, sparkly structured body suit, a segmented sparking body suit with a lobster effect on one sleeve, a geometric mini dress with a mirror effect and a floor-length black patent trench. Gaga will pair each look with specially made Armani shoes and sunglasses. Giorgio Armani commented on the collaboration, explaining, “We hear Lady Gaga’s music everywhere we go; it is like a soundtrack of our times. In addition to her formidable songwriting skills, she is a modern fashion phenomenon.”

Victoria Beckham, Super Sized (NYC)

There'll be a whole lot of Victoria Beckham going around, at least in the Garment District. This Wednesday, May 6th, Giorgio Armani will unveil 20-foot images of VB from the new Emporio Armani Women's Underwear campaign for Autumn/Winter '09-10 on the main floor of Macy's Herald Square.

Armani and the Bunnymen

Is it safe to say that there's been a slight attack of the bunnies these past few weeks? 

I bring to the table this Donny Darko/PETA vs Armani bunny man comparison (left photo), especially since here is a spread from Harper's Bazaar March issue, shot by Peter Lindbergh on location along Fifth Avenue. 

As it turns out, you should know the man under all that bunny fur. Actor Robert Buckley from Lipstick Jungle dons the exact same bunny suit as the PETA protestors picketing outside of Armani 5th Avenue store this past Tuesday evening.  I am not paranoid, but did the fashion world experience a Tangent Universe or is this just a serious case of life imitating art?  Whatever the case may be, please do not tell me that bunnies are the new black.  - Christina Tung

Armani Glamour on Fifth Avenue (NYC)

Just a block south from Diesel, Armani feted his store opening last night alongside Victoria "Posh" Beckham, Alicia Keys, John Mayer, Leo DiCaprio, Mira Sorvino, Ricky Martin and a dozen swoon of A-listers. The near freezing temperatures didn’t keep this fashionable set bundled up. They “bared” the cold to show off their gorgeous Armani ensembles on the red carpet. Keeping warm on the other side of the velvet rope were party crashers from PETA picketing in fuzzy rabbit costumes. More Easter bunny than Frank a la Donnie Darko, these critters held signs saying “Armani, Save our Skins!” referring to his usage of rabbit pelts from French and Chinese fur farms. Last night the Metropolitan Museum's Costume Institute saluted power of "superheroes" in fashion. The MET Costume Gala is the event of the year and also defines your status in the celebrity food chain, hosted by George Clooney and Julia Roberts at the Metropolitan Museum of Art (sponsored by Vogue Magazine).
