Chris Benz isn’t interested. “Everyone has their navy blazer,” he said at a preview. “It’s time for feminine clothes.” The designer made his case with a pretty collection that covered all manner of womanly whims: marabou, paillettes and loads of expressive color, one of his strong suits. Some charming silk dresses that fell in multicolored layers skewed young and sweet, but, for the most part, Benz played the cross-generational card. Plunging necklines, for example, added sexy sophistication to polkadot looks. A current of sportif, specifically a baseball influence, also ran through the show, evident in such pieces as silk jackets and a pair of cropped khaki pants.
