Peter Som Spring 2010. NY Fashion Week.

via WWD - Peter Som tossed Lartigue photos, Japanese woodcut prints and cruise-ship life together and turned out a dream wardrobe for a quirky good girl. He took classic ladylike fare — nautical tweeds, tie-neck blouses and tulip skirts — and amped it up with exaggerated details, such as an outsize bow on a jacquard skirt and the flared cut on silk faille shorts. Colors were bright and prints bold, yet everything had a polish. Styled in a madcap mix — animal prints paired with florals and tweeds and topped off with sunglasses and poufy headgear — the clothes took on a cartoonish quality, like a little girl playing dress-up that ultimately left a charming impression.
