Christopher Kane Spring 2010. London Fashion Week.
via WWD - Calling all girls - naughty and nice. Taking his cue from Brigitte Bardot circa 1956 and the wholesome young women of America’s great Midwest, Kane offered up a collection that was both wholesome and fierce. He toyed with Bardot’s signature gingham, working the pattern on to chiffon and silk in delicate shades of beige, white and pastel blue. And while the dresses were sweet, Kane’s famous corsetry work gave them a tougher, more sophisticated edge. The show went from strength to strength, and hit a crescendo in the form of pastel chiffon dresses with short, puffed sleeves and white beading in the shape of roses.
