Nicole Farhi Spring 2010. London Fashion Week.

via WWD - This youthful and fresh collection is for the brainy gal who prefers the art-fair circuit to the social one. Farhi took her inspiration from the German Expressionist painter Emile Nolde, splashing and daubing colors including mauve, mustard, petrol and dusky pink on to shirt dresses, shifts and wide-legged trousers. Farhi also painted blue stripes – like brush strokes – across fluttery organza blouses. However, some of the the collection’s stars - including one jade green dress - had more of a sculptural feel with asymmetric hemlines and dramatic draping around the neck and hips.
