equals a Thin-To-Win breakfast
Bananas have always been a quick energy fix and offers a high concentrated mix of 3 types of sugars; fructose, sucrose and glucose, which releases energy into the body over a much longer period of time than any other food.
Other ways bananas are a do-gooder:
- they're potassium-rich which helps the body lose sodium, which is a major cause of high blood pressure
- high in fibre containing tryptophan, a protein the body transforms into seratonin, which relaxes the body and induces a general feeling of happiness (so, it can work as a minor quick-fix anti-depressant)
- contain great amounts of phosphorous, iron, thiamin, calcium and beta carotene all great sources of B vitamins, stress busters to help calm the nervous system
Why it's great as the first meal of the day:
- one bowl is quick, easy and affordable
- you can easily bring bananas and a bottle of maple syrup to work
- it's so much healthier than a donut
- it accompanies nicely with the morning coffee
- it's the new oatmeal
